Gene Fay is president of Nine Technology with responsibilities that span sales, marketing, business development and partner relationships.
Previously, Gene was the vice president of sales and business development for VKernel, a startup virtualization management vendor, where he grew sales 300%. Prior to joining VKernel, he was vice president of worldwide sales and global alliances for the security information and event management (SIEM) business unit of RSA, the security division of EMC.
He joined EMC after the company acquired Network Intelligence where he was vice president of business development. In that position, Gene provided the sales leadership and grew the EMC SIEM business by over 40 percent in 2007 after the acquisition. Gene spent more than seven years with EMC and also held other management positions with Avid Sports (founder), and Avid Technology.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University. Gene also graduated magna cum laude with a High Tech MBA degree from Northeastern as class president.
In February 2011, Gene was named to Everything Channel's CRN's Channel Chiefs list for his commitment to the managed services market.
