Nine Technology knows that some businesses don’t need to protect huge amounts of data. Their corporations are secured with only a few dozen or hundred gigabytes. But Nine Technology also knows that some businesses have terabytes of data that need to be secured.

For those clients, we’ve developed our cloud-seeding technology in partnership with Imation. Using Imation’s rugged RDX drives, large amounts of data can be shifted to this portable device and shipped to the online backup provider. There, the provider connects the portable device to the back-end infrastructure and begins the initial system backup locally.

From there, the infrastructure redistributes blocks across the entire back-end, and the client need only operate incremental backups from then on. With cloud seeding technology, large businesses can get their online backup solution up and running faster than ever.
